Dads, Sex, and Media or Why I Write Science Fiction

Does sex for a guy really suck in a long term relationships? How come the cultural stereotypes for men are either bumbling frat-boy, arrogant patriarch, or unattached cowboy? How can a boy become a man when these are the options presented to them? Why is it that media seems to think that all of us Dads regret our choice and would really prefer to be on the hunt for another conquest? It was these questions which first led me to start writing science fiction. I love the genre but grew frustrated with the stereotypes.
